Who we are

The Association of Mexican Business Owners of Philadelphia is a non-profit organization established in 2022 as a response to the ravages caused by the Covid-19 pandemic affecting our community of entrepreneurs. Our association now consists of immigrant traders from various Latin American countries. Although initially composed only of Mexicans, we are now also composed with other members of the Latin American immigrant community residing and operating in the City of Philadelphia. We decided to unite and organize ourselves to achieve several purposes, including promoting our economic development and strengthening our presence as a community that contributes to the growth and development of the city.

Our association is many things at once, but primarily, we have built ourselves as a community of mutual support. This initially meant that what we offer to our members can also be understood as what our own members can offer to others within our organization. The idea of our association is to provide simplified and readily accessible access to shared resources, exchange of knowledge, and a learning and skill development and support networks that allow us to grow together with the main objective of achieving greater consolidation in terms of productivity, stability, and growth.
.

We are always in a constant, firm, and continuous process of construction and development.

What do we do?

Primarily, as a collaborative support network, we aim to facilitate access and provide support from various angles through which we offer options and benefits that contribute to strengthening the businesses belonging to our association.

What have we done?

Our organization has demonstrated efficient assistance for its members in numerous ways.

We have organized commercial and cultural events (for example, Taco Fiesta 2022 and 2023) that promote the products and services offered by our merchants. We have supported our members with guidance, accompaniment, and counseling regarding licensing and permit procedures, for example, to obtain a permit to have a “Streetery (terrace)”; permit renewals; access to grants; GoFundMe campaigns; financial help; mediation with authorities; access to commercial opportunities; and more.

Together as an organized association, we have strengthened our ability to provide numerous advantages to our associate members as a means of aiding in relevant aspects for the bolstering of our community, for which we are increasingly well-equipped.
