Who we are?
The Association of Mexican Business Owners in Philadelphia (AEM Philly) is a nonprofit founded in 2022 as a collective response to the economic impact of the COVID‑19 pandemic. We now welcome immigrant entrepreneurs from across Latin America, united by three core goals:
- Driving economic growth for our businesses.
- Amplifying our collective voice as a community that powers the city’s development.
- Building mutual‑support networks that share resources, knowledge, and opportunities.
At AEM we believe that what you gain is what you can give: every member brings expertise so others can move forward, and vice versa. Together we simplify access to mentoring, funding, training, and strategic connections—boosting productivity, stability, and expansion for all.
We’re always evolving.
Join us and let’s grow together.
What we do?
Primarily, as a collaborative support network, we aim to facilitate access and provide support from various angles through which we offer options and benefits that contribute to strengthening the businesses belonging to our association.
AEM Philly is a collaborative network that powers Latino‑owned businesses through three core pillars:
- Learning & Business Development
- Hands‑on workshops and courses (finance, marketing, e‑commerce).
- 1‑on‑1 consultancies and group mentoring.
- Access to trade shows, business rounds, and promotional campaigns.
- License & Permit Support
- Step‑by‑step guidance for city and state permits.
- Connection to government agencies.
- Updated lists of funding programs and resources.
- Support & Promotion Network
- Links to public institutions, nonprofits, and strategic partners.
- Joint marketing campaigns spotlighting our members.
- Active community: monthly meet‑ups, newsletter, private group.
Outcome: more business opportunities, fewer bureaucratic hurdles, and a strong collective brand resonating in Philadelphia and beyond.
Join us and tap into an ecosystem built for your company to grow, formalize, and shine.
our events
Soccer Fiesta
A family‑friendly festival that fuses soccer fandom with Latino culture. Partnering with Philadelphia Union, we brought live bands, member‑owned food trucks, kids’ games, and special raffles to South 9th Street for a day of fun.
Day of the Dead Festival
Every 2nd of November we turn South 9th Street into a vibrant corridor filled with altars, a procession, live music, folk‑dance, food and craft vendors, and family activities. In partnership with Fleisher Art Memorial and the Italian Market Association, we honor our loved ones and share Mexican traditions in the heart of Philadelphia.
